  • Component Packages... Metric / Imperial

    Hi,

I notice in the course videos reference is made to component package sizes such as 0402, 0603, but both of these sizes are available in metric and imperial.

I'm assuming based on the footprint assignment video that whenever 0402, 0603 etc is mentioned that you are referencing the imperial size?

    Thanks,

    Anthony

    Hi,

From my experience it's imperial system. It's more popular in SMD than metric.

    Cheers

Yes, unfortunately that is one of the few places I am stuck with using the imperial system. Anytime I give passive component footprint sizes/names, it'll be in imperial units.
