If you connect wider track, part of the track will be going out of the pad on the other side of the pad. You can try it. -
Widening tracks
In the 'Altium Essentials' course PHASE2 track is widened to allow for high currents. However, at U1-25 which is the source of PHASE2, the fan-out width is less, 0.2mm.
This seems to me to be shame to limit the current in this segment. wouldn't it be better to widen it to the width of the pin pad to maximize current capacity for this track segment?
