  • Creepage Distance!

    Hi Guys,

It looks AD20.0 is offering creepage distance rule and checks it, I tried it but not showing in online DRC, so my first question is how to activate showing it?
There is also a major problem, in the AD we need to set the distance value. But we need to map isolation or safety voltage to distance in the first place, so I believe there must be a tool or spreadsheet to convert the voltage to distance, do you agree? Any help about such tool?

Also, I am looking for more tutorial or sample design in AD to use this feature.

    Thanks,

Consider the user manual. I Googled Altium Designer creepage, and the first result was an entry in the user manual explaining how Altium's creepage rules work and what they enforce.

Just like with clearance, the user sets a distance and nominates objects to enforce the distance on through rule setting.

      1) Did you check the mark to test for creepage? Mine was unchecked originally.
      2) Creepage distances are defined in i.e. IEC 60664-1.
