  • Custom Exposed Pad

    Hello to everyone,

I want to make the footprint for the TI Boost Converter TPS6102x. As I see in the land pattern section of the datasheet, exposed pad has some circular regions free of copper (as shown in attached image). I don't know how to make these copper free circular regions in Altium. I did a several attempts but with no success. I hope someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance.

Those circles in the diagram show VIAs in the pad, not copper free regions I believe. You can just put vias at the particular location. It is good to use some standard VIA size, which you normally use on your boards - it is good to keep everything consistent.

mairomaster. These would be VIAs to take the heat away. Be careful, do not make them too big as then the tin may flow inside it and it may flow out on the other side of PCB.
