About Annotation of the schematic

Is it possible to annotate just part of the schematic? How do I go about it? I need to add a component placement from a reference design in to my project but have to keep the designators of the reference design's schematic intact. I would appreciate if anybody could help about it.

Yes, you can do it.

Annotation is done for components with question mark in designator only. So, for every component you would like to annotate change the designator number to "?" e.g. C?, R?, .... Leave the other components with numbers e.g. R141, C452 - these will be untouched.
