Schematic Symbols and the Library Reference

Currently my description for my symbol and the library reference are the same. I would like to change the library reference to the manufacturer's part number.

I know how to do this. But I realize that the links to my schematics are now broken. Is there a way to deal with this without having to change each symbol in each schematic?

Or is this simply not worth the effort? I am using not using any vaults or database libraries, but simply integrated libraries.
