I have never used the File locking, however it looks to me more like for cooperation and not for real data protection. But I may be wrong.

You can always only send part of data. As mairomaster suggested, you can send PDF prints or unfinished project, maybe screenshots, possibly send some gerber files. Only send the final project when you know that you are going to get paid. Also, you can split payments into steps. Have a look how we do it: http://www.fedevel.com/how-do-i-work

Normally, I do not have this kind of problems with clients.

I've never used this function. Can you just send a PDF print of the PCB to the client for example and request for the quote to be paid before sending the actual files? I am sure Robert will be able to provide you with better information regarding this.

    Data Management in Altium

    Hi,
I'm looking for data management in Altium software. Some times we release the PCB file but the client doesn't pay the quote completely. How can I block the file for just presentation for the check stage?
The file management in Altium doesn't work. Please take a look http://techdocs.altium.com/display/A...+Locking))_AD#
When I tick the check box, it doesn't work.
Or do you know any other solution?
I would appreciate if you provide me some guideline about it.
    Thanks
    Maxim
