  • OpenRex Board SATA support

    Hi,
This is regarding Serial ATA interfacing on the OpenRex board. The sata connector for data transfer will be connected to the port provided but what is the source of power for SATA devices on the board?
The place for powering the sata?

In the fedevel academy tutorial videos on yocto, uboot.... I saw a connector for powering sata where the power was being drawn from Arduino like headers. Can you specify which pins are deployed for what connection? And as per sata specification, 12V power is required, so how to draw 12V from the board.
Kindly help as soon as possible.

For SATA power we used header J1, pins 1 and 4. See the schematic here (page 24): http://www.imx6rex.com/wp-content/up...Production.pdf You only need +5V for the small hardrives. There is no 12V for the big hardrives.

PS: Some time ago, Hemal was developing an addon board for SATA hardrive. I am not sure what is the current status, but it could be interesting for you:
