Different Measurement Units for NC Drill and Gerber Files. Is it possible?

Hello everyone,


during the Gerber and NC drill files inspection by using a third-party viewer, i.e. ViewMate
I found some issues when the NC drill file is generated by using millimeters: all the holes were focused on the origin.

The issue has been previously treated by Robert Feranec in https://designhelp.fedevel.com/forum...viewmate-issue


So I generated the NC drill files in "mils" and it seems working fine.

So, in this respect, I have another question: could I provide the manufacturer the NC drill file in mils and the Gerbers in mm?

I always sent the NC drill files in the same format as PCB is.

The NC Drill files are generated correctly (even ViewMate doesn't want to show them)
