  • PCB Stackup details for Castellated RF Modules

    Hi,

What is the PCB Stackup and design rules might have used for designing the castellated RF modules like ESP32, Bluetooth modules?

anybody has designed such custom modules?

    Regards,
    Sujith

This is a very wide question. They probably use the kind of stackup they need with as many layers as they need. Usually these modules are small and these PCBs in high quantities will be cheap even if it has many layers or if it has tight rules.

PS: Castellated holes can be done on any stackup (except maybe 1 layer PCB, but theoretically you could do it also there)

Thank you very much for the reply.

Yes that was a bit wide question covering the WiFi and Bluetooth modules on the market.

Please ignore the number of layers part, am particularly interested in the PCB thickness, layers and prepreg thickness used, Vias types used and its specifications etc.
