  • Altium: Getting ready-made PCB footprint and schematic symbol for specific components

There are many resources to get PCB foot print and schematic symbols for components for use in the Altium Designer. What are the best resources to get ready-made reliable (preferrably free) PCB footprint and schematic symbols for use in the Altium Designer?

You are mixing two (almost) mutually exclusive terms: "ready-made" and "reliable".

I think that today about >95% of footprints is "acceptable".
However, there is also the part on style preference - ie. rectangles or rounded rectangles?

For quick symbol/footprint free download I use Altium's "Manufacturer Part Search". Sometimes I use SnapEDA.

PS: As qdrives correctly pointed out, these are "acceptable". It means, they may be fine for hobby projects, but for professional design it may be just a starting point and you often need to modify them to meet your own library standards (e.g. correct layers, change 3D models, etc).

PSS: Don't forget to check them
