For powers and grounds I mostly try to use planes or polygons.

I use Saturn PCB Toolkit for most of our calculations - including maximum track current. It's a free software.

Are bigger power traces always better provided you have the room? (ground pours correctly etc... )
What is your preferred power trace width calculator or do you go by experience?
