  • INTERACTIVE LENGTH TUNING VS DIFF PAIR INTERACTIVE TUNING

    Hello There ,

as for the schematic and pcb design course im doing my own pcb 4 layer with usb ,lvds and tried to length match all the gpio , analog and uart etc... net classes for training.

i realized that while tuning the differential lvds i used the DIFF PAIR INTERACTIVE TUNING and it couldn't get the length matching to the desired gap so i ended up closing the gap using the INTERACTIVE LENGTH TUNING tool to get the desired length gap

if you can please tell me if that the correct way to do it or it can be done using only the DIFF PAIR INTERACTIVE TUNING

    Thanks

RichardHelou, if it is not necessary, I would not do length matching (e.g. gpio, uart, analog, ....). It can introduce unnecessary noise or crosstalk into the signals.

About the other signals. I would recommend you to watch this: High Speed PCB Design Rules (Lesson 4 of Advanced PCB Layout). It will help you to improve the other signals.
