  • Return currents on a 4 layer board

    Hi Everyone,

I have a four layer board with the following layer stack:

    L1: Signals
    L2: Solid GND
    L3: Solid 3.3V
    L4: Signals

The signals i am routing on L4 are UARTs, I2C and SPI.

Do you think i will need to be adding capacitors close to vias every time i change layer from 1 to 4 and vice versa?

    Thank you.

    Kostas.

Personally, I would not - especially if these are 3.3V signals.
