CAM tools

I do not have much experience with CAM tools. Can someone explain me what features should i be looking for while selecting a CAM tool (apart from free to use and commercial). And please can you share a list of good PCB CAM tools (free to use as well as commercial).

I have used two:
- ViewMate https://www.pentalogix.com/t/software-products/viewmate
- CAM350 http://www.downstreamtech.com/cam350.php

Features: Depends on what you are expecting to do with the tool - I mostly only need to view and measure, I do not edit there. Occasionally I need to compare (I upload two very similar PCBs and check differences), but that is usually everything what I need from CAM tool.

Do you need them for viewing purposes or do you looking for CAM data preparation?
