AM3358 Reference Design

suleymancskn , 03-07-2022, 09:46 PM
Hi community, I want to design a board. I have not designed a board with the Texas series before.
However, I made solid designs with processors of different brands.
Can anyone share an AM3358 board for reference?
Thank you so much.

I am currently in this project. I'll open source it with the Fedevel Family when I'm done.

Is the TI development board bad? Usually the reference boards from the chip manufacturer are a very good starting point

Hello everyone.
I will ask a question. I cannot use the TPS65127 IC used for AM335X because I have supply problems.
For this reason I have to choose a new PMIC.

Here is the link of the manual for AM335X series: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvaee2a/s...l=https%253A%2
I have attached the document to the post.

Suppliers say that they can only give the TPS650250 IC. "SPEED GRADE SUPPORTED (MHz) max 600MHz".
However, 1GHz in the TPS65217 integrated.
For AM3358, it is given as "Arm MHz (Max.) 600, 800, 1000".

I was wondering if it would be a problem if I chose the TPS650250 IC with the "SPEED GRADE SUPPORTED (MHz)" option at 600MHz.
What problems could this cause?
I am waiting for your suggestions on this matter.

I do not know why you tagged me as I do not know the AM335x.
But a quick glance in the data and comparing the 65127 to 650250 is that the latter can only do 800mA for the core whereas the 65127 can do 1.2A.

As @qdrives pointed out, the maximum currents may be a problem. Try to compare them.
