Supplier Information in Components

For supplier information in your library parts (Digi-Key), do you use cut-tape for packaging or tape/reel?

Is it better to standardize on Cut-Tape for example, so it is easier when doing a BOM report on cost?

What is your thinking on these things?

@mnpebm normally we go for cut-tape as you are then sure you can buy the component in quantity of 1pcs and build a few prototypes. For BOMs and cost report it should not be a problem as I normally set the calculation for 1000pcs and Altium automatically uses the correct price for the particular quantity.

For mass production, a reel is better, but cut-tape is not a problem (they still can insert it into machines, it just may need some preparation). For very high quantities, often the components are not bought from digikey, so packaging doesn't really mater.

I attached screenshot where it is visible, that cut tape gives option to buy in 1pcs but reel doesnt (compare Packaging vs Minimum Quantity):
