Since some nets need to be thicker, I had assumed that net class could help define specific constraints for thickness and this way if we forget to follow... -
I keep coming across this idea that carbon composite generate larger noise than metal film. I wish there was a video that would actually compare the noise...Leave a comment:

ok, now I am going through the lesson 4. I can see that for each of the signals PHASE1 and PHASE2, Robert has created a polygon pour on the top layer...

Is there any reason why you would go for carbon composite, carbon film or metal oxide resistors since these types are considered obsolete since metal...Leave a comment:

What I have learned so far is that we first start with carbon composite then came carbon film. Then came metal oxide and then came metal film. All this...Leave a comment:

What type of inductors are usually used on PCB for these applications?
All I know about inductors is that they have a quantity called inductance. This means that it resists change in current through it and it saves energy... -
Are resistors that we will usually use on PCBs metal Film type?
I have seen many videos from Robert and other peole in which they are designing schematic and PCBs. In these videos often there is discussion about capacitors...Last edited by gyuunyuu1989; 09-10-2023, 01:35 PM. -
After Robert set the layers to plane in the layer stackup manager, going to that layer in the PCB view shows copper. I thought we had to carry out a copper...Leave a comment:

ok, I am confused between prepreg and core. The core is the actual mass of FR4 that makes most of the the PCB volume and provides it mechanical strength....Leave a comment:

I am about mid-way in the lesson 4. Robert created a stackup which looks like this:
How come FR4 (the di-electric) is in the...Leave a comment:

I have progressed to the part where Robert created the last footprint required for PCB creation, in the lesson 3.
Robert did not create and...Leave a comment:

OK, so what text height and thickness should I use usually for SMD parts (starting with 0603) and ICs (like DIP, BGA .e.t.c)?Leave a comment:

I am able to come across documentation from manufacturers for the minimum possible line width and spacing that they can manufacture. However, the minimum...Leave a comment:

I had missed the fact that height is also an important factor for the pad size.
Robert used a single document which listed the footprint...Leave a comment:

Thanks qdrives.
I have reached lesson 3 already.
I have found that while Robert is creating a unique schematic symbol for each...Last edited by gyuunyuu1989; 08-29-2023, 01:54 PM.Leave a comment:

Correct size for the silk screen layer
Component silkscreen contains the outline of a component, a circle or some other marking to indicate pin 1, text that states the component designator... -
gyuunyuu1989 replied to expressing component values containing decimal and showing the quantity unitin BeginnersI am new to this so I am not even aware of what rules must be set to be consistent. I mean, what are all the possible variations of values that I write?...Leave a comment:
